In the project DC4WORK (“Digital Competences 4 Work”) 5 partners: Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK) from Finland, IHK-Projektgesellschaft mbh from Germany, EfVET from Belgium, BFI Tirol from Austria and Mentortec from Portugal, jointly examine necessary digital competences for a job 4.0. Companies need digitally competent staff to overcome the challenges of a rapidly transforming world of work. Thus the project aims to increase the digital competence of employees by promoting in-company experts to support digital up-skilling of staff. But what does it mean to be digitally competent at work and how do companies recognize and handle skills shortages?
In order to find this out, EfVET will carry out a survey among businesses in the coming 2 months. The survey clarifies the current situation of companies, specifically in the sectors of tourism and trade, related to their awareness and demands of digital skills of their employees. As a basis, the survey uses the European Framework of Reference for Digital Competences, similar to the European Reference Framework for Languages, and works with different sub-skills and levels.
