In the scope of the activities developed by its European Club since January 2017, Esprominho-Escola Profissional do Minho is participating in a European project: “DEVELOPMENT OF SECTORAL QUALIFICATION DESCRIPTORS FOR EQF LEVEL 5”, No. 2016-1-LT01-KA202-023178, Erasmus+ KA2 Strategic Partnerships in Vocational Education and Training in order to prepare internationally comparable qualification descriptors (proficiency and competency profiles for professional practice and accessible professions) at the level 5 of the EQF to promote better quality education and training and to better match the market needs.

Esprominho-Escola Profissional do Minho (Portugal)

This project in which training institutions from Lithuania, Spain, Italy and Portugal are involved, aims at preparing internationally comparable qualification descriptors (proficiency and competency profiles, concerning professional practice and range of accessible professions) in the level sectors of the EQF (health care, services, metallurgical industry, construction) for better education and training and better match the needs of employers and students.

The objectives of the project are to increase transparency and recognition of skills and qualifications to facilitate learning, employability and labor mobility through the evolution of EQF level 5 at sectoral level and thus contribute to improve the implementation of ECVET and EQAVET systems at European level.

Some activities already developed:

  1. A comparative study in several countries on the developments of EQF level 5 in specific sectors: Health, Services and Metallurgical Industry.
  2. A study on the analysis of the needs of key stakeholders (employers, trainers and students) based on structured round tables with employers and other interest groups in the partner countries in order to meet the main expectations and formulate recommendations for the needs and best use of sector qualification descriptors at EQF level 5 in selected sectors.
  3. Development of methodology for the creation of level 5 descriptors for the sectors considered in the project.
  4. Meetings for monitoring, debating and reflecting on the project in Lithuania, Italy, Spain and soon in Portugal.
