The EfVET is looking for a Programme Manager, Strategic Implementation of EfVET’s vision 2019-2021 at its headquarters in Brussels, Belgium

The EfVET is an umbrella organization that represents 27 countries in Europe, 200 learning providers, over 1500 VET institutions and more than 2 million learners. EfVET is one of the leading European-wide professional associations, which has been created by and for Vocational Education and Training (VET) providers.

Main Objective

The Programme Manager develops, oversees and helps implement EfVET’s vision, it’s short- and long-term plans. The Programme Manager is part of EfVET’s senior management team and reports directly to the President of EfVET or as delegated. The Programme Manager also works closely with the EfVET Brussels-based staff members and members of the Executive and Steering Management Team to monitor progress and correct course when necessary.

 Duties and responsibilities  

The EfVET Programme Manager will be entrusted to:

  • Manage and oversee operational and strategic support activities for EfVET consisting of multiple and diverse activities as assigned by the President or as delegated by the Executive Committee.
  • Coordinate EfVET-wide strategic planning, policy and procedure development.
  • Deputize for and/or represents the senior executive officers of EfVET as required.
  • Oversees the collection, reporting and interpretation of data and related information, as necessary.
  • Collaborates on human resources development and management, information services, and administrative support services, as necessary.
  • Oversees all operations at the EfVET Office in Brussels.

More specifically, duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following areas:

  1. To coordinator strategic planning and goal development for the organization; monitor achievement of goals and objectives and provide reports.
  2. To interact with the Executive Committee and the Steering Committee members of EfVET and, as appropriate, with similar European and non-European VET providers organisations, industry, governments, to represent and promote the development of EfVET strategic goals and projects.
  3. To facilitate interdisciplinary collaborative efforts among EfVET staff and members and the development of support to EfVET National Committees.
  4. To contribute to the design and maintenance of an organizational structure to effectively accomplish the organization’s goals and objectives.
  5. To review and ensure accurate completion and timely submission of EfVET reports, to the highest professional and printing/web related standards as required, with respect to assigned areas of responsibilities.
  6. To oversee and monitor performance of assigned staff members to ensure compliance with EfVET policy and operating standards.
  7. To provide coordinator and serve as liaison with other components of EfVET with respected to assigned departments.
  8. To oversee and coordinate one or more specified action plans or projects, as designated by the President of EfVET.
  9. The list is not exhaustive and the Executive Committee may add or change tasks if and when required and according to the exigencies of EfVET.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates must be in possession of:-

  • A Master’s degree (EQF L7) in the Social Sciences from a recognized higher education institution;
  • A minimum of five (5) years of senior management experience in a relevant education and training institution or international organisation;
  • Knowledge of the area of vocational education and training;
  • Collaborate well with team members and relevant stakeholders;
  • Be able to function in a multi-task environment with colleagues of different nationatilities;
  • Excellent writing and spoken skills in English and a working knowledge of French or another European language.

Terms and Conditions

  • Working hours: 38 hours per week
  • Length of contract: 3 years with extension possibility
  • Salary: 3500 € gross salary(full time)+benefits (monthly allowance)
  • 25 days of holidays per full year of employment;
  • Starting date: 1 May 2019
