The EfVET is looking for a Programme Manager, Strategic Implementation of EfVET’s vision 2019-2021 at its headquarters in Brussels, Belgium

The EfVET is an umbrella organisation that represents 27 countries in Europe, 200 learning providers, over 1500 VET institutions and more than 2 million learners. EfVET is one of the leading European-wide professional associations, which has been created by and for Vocational Education and Training (VET) providers.

Main Objective

The Programme Manager develops, oversees and ensures quality in the implementation of EfVET Strategic Plan. The Programme Manager has management responsibility and reports directly to the President of EfVET or as delegated. In the implementation of EfVET Strategic Plan, the Programme Manager coordinates and manages the EfVET Brussels-based staff members. The Programme Manager supports the Executive Team (ET) and Steering Committee (SC) as well as the staff of EfVET members involved in EfVET activities and initiatives. The Programme Manager is responsible for improving the overall quality and transparency of internal procedures and operations, monitor progress and correct course when necessary in line with ET and SC.

 Duties and responsibilities  

The EfVET Programme Manager will be entrusted to:

  • Manage and oversee operational and strategic support activities for EfVET consisting of multiple and diverse activities as assigned by the President or as delegated by the ET and SC
  • Coordinate EfVET-wide strategic planning and advocacy for EfVET policy priorities
  • Ensure quality and transparency of procedures and operations
  • Deputise for and/or represent the executive officers of EfVET as required
  • Oversee the collection, reporting, interpretation and production of data and related information, as necessary.
  • Collaborate on human resources development and management, information services, and administrative support services, as necessary.
  • Oversee all operations at the EfVET Office in Brussels.

  1. To coordinator strategic planning and goal development for the organisation; monitor achievement of goals and objectives and provide reports.
  2. To interact with the Executive Team and the Steering Committee members of EfVET and, as appropriate, with similar European and non-European VET providers organisations, industry, governments, to represent and promote the development of EfVET strategic goals and projects.
  3. To facilitate interdisciplinary collaborative efforts among EfVET staff and members and the development of support to EfVET National Boards.
  4. To review and ensure accurate completion and timely submission of EfVET reports, to the highest professional and printing/web related standards as required, with respect to assigned areas of responsibilities.
  5. To oversee and monitor performance of assigned staff members to ensure compliance with EfVET policy and operating standards.
  6. To provide coordination and serve as liaison with regards to EfVET members’ involvement in activities and initiatives.
  7. To oversee and coordinate one or more specified action plans or projects, as designated by the President of EfVET.
  8. The list is not exhaustive and the Executive Team may add or change tasks if and when required and according to the exigencies of EfVET.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates must be in possession of:

  • A minimum of five (5) years senior management experience in a relevant vocational education and training institution or international organisation;
  • Experience of the area of vocational education and training;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and multi-cultural skills;
  • Networking skills to foster collaboration with relevant stakeholders;
  • Excellent writing and spoken skills in English and a working knowledge of French or another European languages

Terms and Conditions

  • Working hours: 38 hours per week
  • Length of contract: 3 years with extension possibility
  • Salary: negotiable
  • Base: Brussel with availability to travel
  • 25 days of holidays per full year of employment
  • Starting date: July/September 2019
