EfVET welcomes Maria João Proença as new Head of Office and Programme Manager at the EfVET Brussels Office.
Maria João Proença, with close to 20 years of international experience designing, developing and executing projects across Europe and Africa, had the opportunity to combine technical and managerial skills and competencies in areas such as gender equality, child protection, capacity building, community development and organisational development, with different international institutions.
She has extensive experience in the non-formal Education Sector, designing and delivering training and capacity building curriculums to different audiences and has been responsible for bringing together diverse, talented teams to achieve organisational goals. For the last 4 years Maria João has worked with the largest volunteering organisation for girls and young women, firstly as Membership Development Manager and later as a Senior Relationship Manager tasked with improving official and non-official relationships, membership services and knowledge management structures globally. Maria João holds a bachelor’s degree in education sciences, complemented with a post-graduation in international development.
As Head of Office and Programme Manager, she will be responsible for developing, overseeing and assuring the quality of the implementation of EfVET 2019-2022 Strategic Plan, in close articulation (and providing support to) with the Executive Team and Steering Committee. She will also be responsible for managing all operations at the EfVET Office in Brussels. In addition to this, she will also be responsible for managing a portfolio of projects in close articulation with partners, members of EfVET and other relevant shareholders.
On her first day, Maria João has said “It is with great excitement and a huge sense of responsibility that I start my role as Head of Office and Programme Manager with EfVET. Having always been passionate about the education sector I’m very happy to be part of the team and give my contribution to EfVET’s aspiration in becoming the leading pan-European professional organisation focusing on vocational education and training. As I start my first day with EfVET am just looking forward to getting to know all amazing members and partners and everyone involved in the VET world”.
